Threadless + Cakes = Crazy Delicious
One of our most fav websites, Threadless.com, has launched their annual Threadcakes competition. The premise is genius: Pick one of the brilliant T-shirt designs from Threadless, and then reinterpret that design in the form of a cake. There are some majorly awesome prizes and majorly cute judges (cough cough). The contest is taking submissions until August 3rd. I encourage all the brilliant cake decorators that send us photos of their gorgeous homemade creations to enter!
Puppets + Charm City Cakes = Crazy AwesomeWay back in January we had the absolute thrill of having all of us recreated in puppet form by the brilliant and talented Nic Lemon of Lemon Productions. The puppets were given some amusing screen time on the Season 6 Finale of Ace of Cakes, but I wanted to post a photo of all of us with our mini-mes so you could get a better look at what an amazing job Nic did.
Humiliated! A Night of Confessional Comedy
Humiliated! is a storytelling show wherein participants recall the most embarrasing and cringe-worthy events of their adolescence. This night of confessional comedy will include the storytelling of Kat Hudson, Sarah Perrich, Ann Sosnowski, Jamie Parrish, and, well, me. Local alt-country band The Gold Bug will play a set to round out the evening. The show is this Thursday July 9th at The Metro Gallery. The show starts at 8, tickets are $7.
Johns Hopkins Summer Outdoor Films is a great outdoor movie series that features live local music before each month's show. This month the movie is Dark Knight and the featured band is Duff's band, soihadto. The show is on Friday, July 17th at Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus Lower Quad in front of Shriver Hall. The band goes on at 7:30pm and the movie starts just after sunset (8:30pm).
Hope your week is filled with excellence!
xoxo,
Mary Alice
