On last night's show, I made a less-than-sweet comment about Detroit. Several of you have written in to admonish me for my thoughtless and unfounded criticism.
I remember when we had that meeting, and as soon as I said that Detroit comment, I just KNEW if it ended up on the show I would catch so much slack. I wanted to rewind and take it back immediately.
It was a stupid thing to say.
Unfortunately, we have video cameras here all day long catching EVERY stupid thing we say. Please accept my humblest apologies.
Baltimore, too, has a spotty reputation and is, as I know from living here, the greatest town ever. So for me to be so hypocritical as to degrade a city having never experienced it is deplorable. Please, please know that I thoroughly and humbly am sorry for my thoughtless remarks.
