Two of my favorite cakes from last month were by the lovely and talented Katie Rose. First, for the 100th birthday of Edgar Allen Poe, she recreated his gravestone with a majorly spooky raven on top.

And definitely in the running for cutest cake ever, Katie constructed this fantastic Cookie Monster! Aren't his furry little fingers perfect?

For last month's historic Presidential Inauguration, Geof and the gang created a pretty amazing replica of the Capitol Building in DC. The party it was delivered to was actually right across the street from the Capitol, resulting in a pretty amazing photo. How's this for art imitating life?
