There is so much to tell you about I am overwhelmed. I have so many photos and cakes to talk about and questions to answer and my oh my. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on catching you up on our most excellent adventures in the next couple of days.
But to my two points for today....

First and most imminent: This Saturday Duff (and some other surprise CCC staffers) will be putting on not one but TWO live shows at the Sweetest Place on Earth: Hershey Park, Pennsylvania. The shows are at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm and are free with admission to the park. Get all the sweet info here!
Secondly, to your questions! A while back I asked via our twitter account for any inquiring questions about us, cake decorating, the show, anything. Here are some of the best questions, answered!
Q: Have you thought any more about a west coast shop? -jadedrain
A: Yes and no. While we are still entertaining the concept of a shop in California, no definitive plans have been made. Yet.
Q: How many days a year do ya'll film for TV? You don't "always" have cameras while you work do you? -CindysCottage2
A: The Ace of Cakes crew films Tuesday through Saturday, ten months out of the year. So no, we don't "always" have cameras while we work, but we do for most of the time. Generally when we're shooting the crew is here for three weeks and then takes a week off, three weeks on, one week off, etc. So we do get a bit of a break, but honestly we love our crew so much it's mostly just lonely and too quiet when they're not here.
Q: What is the best part about making cakes for a living? -nicolepiascik
A: Eating our mistakes!
Q: What are those colored straw things you put in your cakes for support? (a lot of people)
A: They are Bubble Tea Straws. Just Google it, and you'll find them. They are by far the BEST solution for supporting tiered cakes. Insert 5-6 straws in your larger tiers, and cut to size. Just don't forget to take them out before serving!
And the winner of the BEST question asked, hands down:
Q: Zombies are attacking the bakery, what is your plan of action? -aniamarib
A: Duff says, "This bakery is made with three feet of granite and our doors are pretty solid. I'm not worried about the bakery. This is probably one of the safest places to be during a zombie attack. In fact, I think we would more than likely ascend to our roof in order to protect our neighbors at the Dizz. From our rooftop vantage point we would be able to shoot at and destroy the zombies with weapons forged in our tool shop and also lots and lots of fireworks."
STAY TUNED because I really really do have a lot of blog fodder (blodder) to get through...not the least of which is our amazing LucasFilm Skywalker Ranch trip recap!
xoxo,
Mary Alice
