A few months ago, we were really thrilled to be invited to be a part of the Lowe’s Woman’s Leadership Summit, an event to focus on the investments women make in their careers, health and well-being, finance, and personal style. They asked Duff to come speak to the 175 attendees and also give a cake decorating demonstration. No problem!
Then they asked if each of the 175 attendees could each have a small cake of their own to decorate. Could we do that? The answer : No problem!
But then, the conundrum : One hundred seventy five two-layer 6-inch cakes require at least seventy five 6-inch cake pans in which to bake them. We had, on hand, about twelve 6-inch cake pans. That's a problem.
Not to be thwarted, our intrepid Mark called the good people at Fat Daddio's - who make super duper superior cake pans. Mark presented our conundrum to the good folks at Fat Daddio's and they graciously offered to provide us with the seventy five pans - and got them to us in a hurry! Shown here are are about 1/2 of the pans! Needless to say, it was a lot.
We went into crazy production mode and baked, iced, and boxed the one hundred seventy five cakes, along with a sculpted decorated cake that Duff revealed at the event. Mary Smith and Katie Rose drove them down to North Carolina and everyone and every cake arrived in once piece! The event was a huge success.
The big, sculpted cake for the event was met with wild applause.
A great time was had by all and it's all thanks to the awesome folks at FAT DADDIO'S for saving the day! Thank you thank you thank you!
That's it from the land of pleasant living.
xoxo,
Mary Alice
