Greetings and salutations, everybody!
Last week, our beloved Baltimore was host to the 79th Annual Meeting of the United States Conference of Mayors. Kind of a big deal! With hundreds of the nation's leaders visiting Baltimore, they needed to see that the name "Charm City" is no fluke.
The final night of the conference was capped off by a huge, funky, only-in-Baltimore party at the American Visionary Art Museum. It featured all kinds of super food, music and fun, including a rocking set by the pastry-chef-heavy Elvis cover band DANGER ACE, and hosted by the legendary John Waters.
Danger Ace rides again!

We were thrilled to provide the cake for the event - an homage to our town that we love so dearly. It's a trio of Baltimore Birds - the Oriole, the Raven, and the Flamingo (yes, the flamingo is Baltimore, not Miami!) - holding up a tiered cake that shows off the best of our city's distinctive architecture and landmarks. The cake was designed by Elena and decorated by her and our team.
[The beautiful statue of Divine behind the cake is part of AVAM's permanent collection.]
A great night was had by all - and we know all of the Mayors left knowing without a doubt that BALTIMORE ROCKS!
Many thanks to Edwin Remsberg of Remsberg Photography for sharing these gorgeous photos!
