Class FAQs

  • Wearing a mask is appreciated, but optional for class participants and visitors. Thank you!

  • Nothing! Participants are provided their own dedicated set of tools for the class. You're welcome to bring your own apron or purchase one when you arrive.

  • For a cupcake class, you will take home 4 decorated cupcakes in a cupcake box. For a cake class, you will take home a decorated 6” cake in a cake box. Charm City Cakes supplies all of the tools to use during the class. You are welcome to purchase more baked goods or merchandise as a souvenir while you’re here for your class!

  • Vegan and/or Gluten-free cakes and cupcakes are available upon request for an additional fee. There are no nut products used during classes. However, please be aware that all cakes are baked and decorated in the same area. While we take extreme cautions to minimize the risk of cross contamination, we are unable to guarantee that any cake can be completely free of peanut, tree nut, milk, egg or wheat allergens. Unfortunately, we can not accommodate soy allergies.

Please email classes@charmcitycakes.com or order a GF/V cake or cupcakes and advise us about any allergies prior to the class.

  • Ages 6-99! Participants stand around a counter-height table during the class. Please let us know if you need a stool to stand on or a chair to sit.

  • Because of limited space there is only room for the participants to be around the decorating table. Unfortunately, we don't have the space for parents who did not register to help their children during the class. There is an area close by for the parents and guardians to sit and watch their children decorate and take pictures. And of course, you are welcome to sign up and decorate with us! For children with special needs we can make accommodations for parents to help them. Please email classes@charmcitycakes.com or let the instructor know.

  • Everyone attending a class must purchase a ticket.

  • Fill out an inquiry form here. From there we will be in touch to secure a date and time.

  • Classes are taught by our Charm City Cakes instructors. Our teachers have backgrounds in cake decorating, art, baking, and more! We can not guarantee who will teach your class. Duff is not teaching private classes at Charm City Cakes at this time.

  • Tipping your instructor is not expected, but always appreciated! You can tip them with cash or via Venmo.

  • For all press/media and appearance requests, please contact Lauren Feldman via Email. Check out Cameo to get a personalized video from Duff.

  • There is free street parking around the bakery. Please pay close attention to the street signs, some areas are 2 hour parking only.

  • You can purchase a class gift card here for our public group classes! Please email classes@charmcitycakes.com if you are interested in gifting a private class.

  • If you can not make it or we need to cancel a class due to the weather you will receive a credit that you can use towards a future class. Participants will be notified via email if their class will be canceled.
