Schedule: Part-time, approximately 4–16+hours per month

Charm City Cakes is looking for a talented, positive, and engaging Cake Decorating Class Instructor to lead public and private cake and cupcake decorating classes at our Baltimore studio. This is a part-time role, ideal for someone looking for occasional weekend work, with an expected schedule of approximately two weekends per month.

The instructor will lead group classes ranging from small private sessions to groups of 18+ guests. Classes are generally held on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 AM–1:00 PM, 2:00 PM–3:30 PM, and 4:30 PM–6:30 PM, with occasional weekday classes or private events as requested.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cake and cupcake decorating classes for adults and children

• Teach set class designs in a clear, approachable, and engaging way

• Create a fun, welcoming, and creative class environment

• Answer general guest questions about Charm City Cakes and Duff Goldman

• Start and end classes on time

• Prepare materials before class and clean up afterward

• Maintain a clean, organized, and functional studio space

• Monitor class inventory and communicate supply needs

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or working with both children and adults

• Strong communication and group management skills

• Friendly, patient, and positive demeanor with guests

• Strong time-management skills and ability to keep classes on schedule

• Willingness to learn new decorating techniques and class designs

• Ability to stay calm, professional, and upbeat in a busy environment

• Excellent attention to detail and pride in a job well done

• Experience in a commercial kitchen is a plus

• Arts, baking, decorating, or creative instruction background is a plus

We need a reliable teacher who can instruct groups, give clear instructions, and foster a fun and creative environment for camps with Howard County Recreation and Parks. This person will facilitate two daily camp sessions for students 9-15 years old, teaching them how to bake Duff’s recipes and decorate cakes and cupcakes. Curriculum will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading camp lessons and activities for students 9-15 years old

Maintaining a safe classroom environment

Facilitating a fun and educational experience for students

Teaching students how to bake Duff’s recipes

Teaching students how to decorate cakes and cupcakes

Prepping and cleaning up classroom

Communicate daily activities classroom assistant and use assistant to help camp run smoothly

Qualifications:

Must be 20 years of age or older

Must have experience teaching kids

Must be willing to learn new skills to teach classes

Must have strong time-management skills

Attention to detail - must have a stellar work ethic and take extreme pride in a job well done.

Experience working in a commercial kitchen, baking, or cake decorating is a plus

Arts background is a plus
